TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Call out fee is to be paid on booking, the rest to be paid immediately on completion by cash or card. Minimum 1 hour charge. 

Work on commercial appliances may be charged at a higher rate than domestic appliances, the exact will rate will be provided in the estimate prior to booking. 

If a further visit is required to complete a job for reasons such as needing to order a new part, you will be charged a reduced call out fee for the second visit, only if the second visit is solely related to the same repair on the same appliance. 

After hours charges. If the start time of a job is before 5pm, you (the customer) will be charged at the standard hourly rate until 6pm, and the higher after hours rate thereafter. If the call out is received after 5pm or the start time of a pre-booked job is after 5pm you will be charged at the higher after hours rate which you will be informed of when I send you the estimate prior to booking.

WARRANTY. I provide a 6 month warranty on any parts supplied by me. The warranty excludes wear and tear or damage due to improper use. I cannot provide warranty for parts provided by the customer. The warranty claims are subject to my evaluation. 

CANCELLATION POLICY. If the booking is cancelled by myself, you will get a full refund of the call out fee/deposit. **Cancellations from the customer are accepted up to 24 hours before the agreed date and time of booking. If cancelling within 24 hours, the call out fee/deposit paid at the time of booking is non-refundable. Any items such as parts and materials purchased for a specific job must be paid for as agreed in the estimate provided. If the customer terminates a job before it is completed, they are liable to pay for any time spent on the job.

 

**I, Barnaby James reserve the right to terminate the contract/agreement for any reason I see fit. 

If I terminate the contract/agreement due to my feeling threatened or subjected to any kind of abuse, the call out fee/deposit will be retained. 

 

SPECIAL CASE REFUND POLICY.

There may be times when I am unable to complete a repair job due to the item being unrepairable,  the necessary parts or materials required to complete the repair being unobtainable, or the problem with and item is unable to be diagnosed despite my having carried out all reasonable and appropriate tests.  If this is the case,  the £30 call out fee/deposit will be retained and you will be charged for the time spent diagnosing the problem. 

 

If I cannot complete the job simply because I don't have the knowledge, tools or skills necessary, you will not be charged for time spent on the job, but the £30 call out fee/deposit will be retained. 

There are times where an item presents with multiple faults. If I can fix one or more of these faults, but I am unable to fix all of them due to reasons stated in the previous paragraph, the customer will receive a 50% refund on the chargeable time spent. The call out fee/deposit will be retained. 

If in the course of a repair I find that the item is likely to be damaged due to it having to be moved, removed, taken apart because of how it was installed, designed or the nature of the damage, I will warn the customer about this first and will only proceed if the customer agrees to not hold me liable for this damage by signing a short form to this effect.  

In the case of locksmith services, if I am unable to get the lock open, or gain entry, the customer will receive a full refund as long as the information provided by the customer at the time of booking was accurate and complete. Locksmith prices for gaining entry are £30 call out fee + £55 when entry gained, or £55 call out + £100 when entry gained after hours (emergency locksmith). These charges apply to opening one lock only. If multiple locks require opening to gain entry, you will be charged an additional fee which will be disclosed in the estimate provided. Other locksmith services such as lock repair, lock change are subject to a different charge which can be discussed prior to booking.

COPYRIGHT. The name BJ SERVICES and my logo shall not be copied or used in any way unless you receive permission me, including posting on social media. 

PRIVACY POLICY. I will not distribute your data to any third parties except for the purposes of shipping, billing, payment and verification and compliance with law enforcement. In the case of locksmith jobs, I may need to perform additional verification of address/ownership which may involve making a third party enquiry using your data to prevent criminal activity. Your data will not be sold to third parties or used for marketing purposes. The payment companies used for collecting online payments via this site have their own Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy. By submitting a payment via this site you agree to these terms and policies. 

By using my services and/or paying the call out fee/deposit you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
